Florida Construction Is Booming, Save On Building Materials Now

The sound of hammers, pounding nails, heavy machinery treading well worn paths over building sites, and the stark outlines of cranes on the horizon are all clear indicators of the construction boom in Florida.

So are the hundreds of millions of dollars in loans that have been secured by various companies to build across the Sunshine State.

To put it succinctly, Florida construction is at an all time high, and Florida Lumber is proud to offer cost saving materials to both private industry and homeowners who are looking for best in class products from a longstanding company with respected ties to the community.

Here at Florida Lumber, we have been servicing homeowners, contractors, and handymen in the South Florida area since 1966. We primarily focus on Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, where we even offer free delivery. But we can definitely use statewide construction data to show how business is booming statewide, what that means for our customers here, and how you can benefit from it through our great costs, selection, sales, and service.

So let’s take a look at some of the trends and how they will affect the growth of the state. After all, Florida recently eclipsed New York as the third most populous state in the union. And with all of this continued growth, building will surely maintain its place as one of the most active facets of Florida’s national character.

According to Biz Journals, “Multifamily projects are under construction throughout downtown Orlando and the greater metropolitan region. Generally, both housing prices and housing starts are increasing regionally year-to-year and quarter-to-quarter.”

Central Florida is benefitting from the uptick in construction, which has truly helped pick the city up out of the difficult phase we all experienced when the mortgage backed housing market bubble burst around 2008.

In other news, the Orlando Sentinel reports that, “Florida ranked second in the nation, behind California, for the number of construction jobs added (28,200 jobs or 7.2 percent) over 12 months, according to the Associated General Contractors of America.” As the numbers clearly show, in Florida construction materials are quickly put to use as the foundation of this great economic boon.

In Broward County, $43 million were recently loaned to a residential developer in Miramar. And in Miami, $118 million just went out to build a new tower. The South Florida Business Journal reports that another $32 million loan has also just gone to a West Kendall subdivision developer.

So as you can see by this variety of economic indicators, Florida lumber, rebar, cement products, and roofing materials are more necessary than ever before. And we haven’t even taken into account how the improvements in the overall economy means that more homeowners than ever will be buying drywall, house paint, hardware fasteners, and plywood. In fact, Florida Lumber is going to be proudly selling interior and exterior doors and their hardware to all manner of handymen, construction crews, and home project builders.

Therefore, given the wonderful era of prosperity we’re entering, and the heightened levels of construction in the state, Florida Lumber is ready to provide builders, renovators, contractors, and homeowners alike all of the tools and materials they need to build a brighter future for us all.
